Sharing a lil' bit of lurve x

It's my husband's birthday today. He's a fab husband, he really is, and I don't tell him that often enough, but I do give him my bestest-est cards that I make.....

.......mostly I give him them because I love him, but there is that little bit inside all of us who make things, you know that voice that says, "you like this one that you've spent time and effort creating, you should keep it...", well, this way I get to, kind of.....

Got a real thing for this heart throb. Oh and for the fab Jo Capper-Sandon foliage stamp.

Lots of hearts, so I'm entering it into this week's challenge at Stampotique Designers, which is Love. Ooh, and get me, I was one of the favourite picks last week for my bookmark with keykeeper on- if you want to see it, click here.

I'm also entering it into the Allsorts Masculine challenge.

Happy birthday Craig x

A butterfly bookmark

A quick little visit today to show you another bookmark for a swap I'm taking part in. This is made from a little butterfly panel I've had hanging around for aaaaaagggges. Seriously probably about 18 months...... ah well, I'm using these little bits up now, aren't I good?

Actually, I don't know why I didn't think of this before, it looks really pretty mounted up. The background is sprayed with cosmic shimmer mists, and the image itself is promarkered.

Thanks for looking!

January journal page

I've only just realised that I hadn't shared my journal calendar page for January with you. I needed bright and colourful to get me through  the month.....

Spot the Stampotique image..... yes I did cut all of that fence out......

Love heart throb, he's a fab stamp.

Feet!

Ah, what a lovely couple.

The squares with a bite out of them are my favourites.....

I'm entering this into the Stampotique Designer challenge #81- journal cover or page.

New year's resolution for Stampotique

The challenge from the Stampotique Designers this week is to show something that involves a new year's resolution. I'm not brilliant at resolutions, it always seems to be setting myself up to fail. However...... I have decided on a couple of things. The first is to make better use of the craft stash I have already got. I know I won't stop buying new things, but I am going to try really hard to use what I've got and use up the scraps from projects instead of storing them away and never seeing them again!

To that end, here's a couple of bookmarks made with background scraps from other projects.

Ah, but Lisa, you'll say, you said you'd decided on a couple of resolutions, so what's the second one? Well....the second one isn't to do with crafting. It's to take my alloted breaks at work, so that I get some time away from the computer and don't get stressed. So....I'm back into the habit of taking my latest book to work so that I relax......and as I may have said before, all of my books have their own bookmarks. See? 2 resolutions in one.

Of course it helps that these have the keeper of the key on them.....cutest monster ever.

Doodling on a notebook

Usually I'm doodling in a notebook, not on it.....

This is a basic brown covered A4 notebook, given the doodling treatment with my pen in front of the Christmas telly!

Sneaky peek

As promised yesterday, this is a sneaky peek of a circle journal page for a swap I'm in. I don't want to show the whole thing as it'll spoil the surprise for the recipient.....however, it does have a few of my gorgeous Stampotique Big Bees on the pages....

Hmmmm, whose green hand is that there????

Using up the oddments

I've been trying to finish off some of the half made cards and ATCs that have been lying about on my desk for forever...... no idea why this pretty little image languished in my oddments box for so long, but it's scrubbed up beautifully.....

The fairy is a Lili of the Valley image, coloured with Promarkers. The flowers are stamped directly onto the card, from a Stampin' Up set called Petal Pizazz. the yellow dots are a raised glaze pen.

Oooh what a heart throb.

Be still my beating heart, isn't he a handsome one?

ATC with Stampotique and Papermania stamps. What a hunk! I think it's the yellow eyes that do it, ha ha ha!!!

It's all about the beeeeeeee.....

It was smashing to have time over my Christmas break to sit down and play around with inks and get the creative juices going. I had a fine old time trying out my new Stampotique Big bee stamp. Great isn't  he?

My bookmark background is an off cut from a Dylusion sprayed background, inked through with black dotty bee stripes.

The bee is coloured with pencils for depth and shading. Glitter wings of course, wouldn't be me without a bit of sparkle!!!

Flowers and a toadstool

This card has been in my head for months and months. Just buzzing around, waiting to be made.....

The little toadstool and mouse is a Tatty Button image, promarkered as usual, with added sparkle on the  dots.

I think easel cards make things a bit more special, makes a bit more of a splash! The flowers are all punched from scrap bits of paper.

The hearts are a Stampotique stamp I'm using quite a lot at the moment, with the odd accented heart.

I'm not sure if it comes out on the screen, but there's a layer of cobweb mesh behind the toadstool and flowers, for a spot of extra texture. This is a new acquisition, courtesy of my lovely Mom, and I need to work out how best to use it I think!

I'm entering this into the Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge- furry friends
and into the Papertake weekly challenge- anything goes

Orange birthdays

I've had a bit of a finish off session......whilst I was tidying my desk (no fainting now), I found a whole pile of half finished things- coloured images, backgrounds, all sorts! So, I chose a colour scheme and made a couple of cards!

This is such a cute little image from Lili of the Valley, and it really lends itself to sepia and orange tones, Promarkers of course.....

The idea is that this coming year I get ahead of the game and get the cards I need to send make in advance, rather than doing the night before panic. Watch this space, I reckon in about 3 weeks I'll be admitting defeat......;)

I'm entering this into the I love Promarkers challenge- monochrome.....couldn't get much more orange, right?
