Party chicks

New stamps = party chick cards of course....

You know how it is, once you start on a theme you may as well carry on and make a couple more.....

I'm entering this last one into the Crafts and Me challenge- dies or punches, that flower is a lovely punch I should use more often!

WOYWW....I'm on a roll....

Two weeks in a row I'm fit to show my desk on What's on your workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW).....no fainting now!

Here's my desk as of 7.30am this morning.....

What a mess!

The usual sparkly points on offer for spotting:

  • The doggy and bunny images from last week, some of which are now coloured in. I have so many stamped images from crafty sessions with my friends, which usually get filed away until I remember them, but this time I thought I'd colour them straight away- trusty watercolour pencils again, can't remember the last time I touched a Promarker!
  • My favourite little alphabet stamps, verrrry useful.
  • Stitch in his Tae Kwon Do outfit, fresh from a trip with Miss Little Legs to see Disney on Ice at the weekend. I think he's sitting on a coloured bunny image!
  • Stamping Bella Ketto girls stamps, I know from my desk it looks like I'm a cute freak, and I'm not really, but needs must sometimes when I need a card for a little girl! Anyway, I digress- the Ketto stamps are an exception, I think they're quite cool, very oriental looking.

I've decided to jump into the DT fray again, after giving everything up when I started my new job. I've been asked to participate in a brand new blog, can't reveal the deets yet, but I think it'll be do-able, and I'm excited about it!

Here's some pics from Disney on Ice.

We were really close on the front row!

Miss Little Legs managed to be the only little girl there not in a princess outfit, no, she was dressed as Lilo from Lilo and Stitch, clutching a Stitch (he's an alien) in a martial arts outfit, and Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. She walks her own path, I'm glad to say :)

Have fun today everyone, and don't forget to visit Julia's Stamping Ground, for more WOYWW goodness!

WOYWW....it's been a while......

I'm usually a-workin' on Wednesday, so I haven't joined in with what's on your work desk Wednesday for a while. I'm taking a few days off for half term though, so coo-ee, long time no see!!!

I've just taken a photo of my desk, in the murky light that passes for a morning here.

Sparkly points for spotting:

  • My February journal calendar pages
  • The swanky tote bag I was given a couple of weeks back (thanks Joeyanne), still full of the things I took out to a crafting get together on Monday
  • A bottle of M&S pink cranberry lemonade, yum
  • A giant boingy springy wire my son found on the driveway, I'm just hoping it hasn't dropped out of my car engine......

Have fun visiting lots of desks via Julia's Stamping Ground, go on.....you know you want to......

Trolley Dolly

This Tim Holtz stamp reminds me of a 60s trolley dolly. Love the style of it.

It fits perfectly with this sticky backed fabric- this is a little altered notebook.

Then I used the scraps and off stamps to make a couple of ATCs. Going to craft with some buddies next week, so I need a couple of swaps to take with me.......

Scraps

Using up scraps of gorgeous backgrounds that I couldn't bear to just throw away, to make bookmarks.

Loving that little shocked looking Octopode owl.....

Heart of slate

More hearts.....

Made these for a PIF on Facebook. They're slate and come ready to hang.

I've heat embossed them with a silver pearl powder, they get reeeeeally hot and take a long time to emboss, but once dry they had this shadow round the stamping. I kinda like it.

Feeling kinda over the whole heart thing now.....I much prefer pancake day :)

Angry birds

I think I must be feeling a leeeetle teeny bit grumpy today, cos these Octopode owls really spoke to me.....

These are ATCs for an owl swap I'm hosting. They're a bit wobbly round the edges at the moment- I've not backed them yet, so they're kinda floppy.

The backgrounds are all cut from the same sheet, amazing how different they look.

As these little fellas are all Octopode images, I'm entering this into the Octopode Factory Friday challenge, which is glitter. Hopefully you can see the glittery dots on the almost foliage.

I'm also entering it into the Stamping sensations challenge which is fur or feathers.

Heart.

It's nearly Valentine's Day after all.....

The heart was made using a stencil and the faux air brushing technique from Craft Stamper. The hearts are Stampotique and the middle one is glossy accented.

I'm entering this into.....
the Craft Stamper blog challenge- to use faux airbrushing
the Stampotique designers challenge- red, pink and white
Papertake weekly- anything goes
the Cupboard Trilogy- a sprinkling of red and romance
the Play Date Cafe- Cranberry, raspberry, petal
Allsorts- Valentine
the Happy Daze challenge- Love is all around (Distress inks and Glossy accent)

February's journal calendar page

Circles, circles, circles.......

I started this off going for red, hearts, and valentines. Then it went a bit purple and dark, but I liked it so it stayed!

The swirls are from Stampin' Up, and the raven and spider are Tim Holtz.

The letters are on tissue paper, they kept ripping, but it all adds to the charm, right?

Ooh, I'd forgotten that I'd heat embossed some of the swirls, that's a fab embossing powder- Silver Pearl, really versatile.

These pages are great for using up snippets of paper for the days.

Wonder what I'll write on this month? I'm hoping for a WON THE LOTTERY scrawl in black marker across the while thing, lol.
