It's April tomorrow!

Skidding in at the last minute.......skin of my teeth.......with April's calendar journal pages.

Apologies for the photo quality- I waited too late to take it, and the light had gone. Still, you get the idea- lots of green and yellow. I'd got the colours in my head weeks ago, and the recent bout of snow (still lying on the ground here), just made me more determined to have some spring like colours on my pages.

The frog is one of my all time favourite stamps, he's magnificent. Coloured with watercolour pencils, and lots of punched flowers to frame him.

The green post tag was in the rubbish at work, so home with me it came! The bunny was on an Ester present my daughter opened this morning, a last minute addition, but he works! I've collected offcuts of backgrounds for ages with this sort of layout in mind.

I'm entering this into:
Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge- Spring flowers
Try it on Tuesday- recycle it! (bunny and tag)
Corrosive challenge- Spring fling

Seeing spots

I've been working on this card for about a fortnight, ever since I stamped the image at a crafty evening with some crafty friends. Time just gets away from me sometimes. To be fair, I have had a major piece of storage put up, and have done some serious craft stash sorting in between times!

The image is Stamping Bella. Ooh you can see my new spotty tablecloth- d'ya like it?

I may have gone a little bit bling-tastic, but this one is for a very special someone, and besides, it looks pretty :)

So, whilst I was there, I made another one...... I find once I've worked out the layout and placings it's quite quick to whip up another the same for my card stock box.

The dresses are paper pieced, and the faces and hair are promarkered.

The swirls round the flowers are from a favourite EK Success punch.

I'm entering the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers Bingo challenge- in the end I could have chosen most of the bingo lines, but I went for ribbon, gems and punches!
Pretty little ribbon shop- Happy birthday
Party time Tuesdays- Anything goes

Temporal blip......WOYWW

There must be someone with their finger on the fast forward button of my life. Seriously. A week already? My time has been voraciously eaten up by all things non-crafty. Sad, sad, sad face.

On the plus side, at least one of those non-crafty things will result in a much improved craft area for me. Happy face!

Less faces, more desk, I hear you cry. Oh, OK then.....

Sparkly points for spotting......

  • Red and green perfect pearls, scrummy
  • My beloved swirl stamp from a Stampin' Up set called Baroque motifs (I think)- use it LOTS
  • The start of my card for my bestie, she's blonde, I'm brunette
  • Drippy goo punch :)
  • The gorgeous jewelled heart that's fallen off my keyring- definitely going to find a use for it, it's too bling to throw out!

I'm off to the Hobbycrafts exhibition at the NEC this weekend, taking my lovely Mom, so hopefully there will be new goodies to share next weekend......yay!

For more WOYWW goodness, check out Julia's Stamping Ground. Happy hump day everyone!

WOYWW?- not a lot, thanks for asking.

Haven't been near my desk since finishing off Mothers' Day cards on Saturday. Hence the lack of anything even slightly interesting.....

OK sparkly points for spotting:

  • The plant pot I will shortly be decanting my beloved watercolour pencils into- I broke the last one :(
  • ATCs folder
  • The bunnies I still haven't done anything with- I really struggle with cutie cards
  • Ink splodged sponges
  • The corner of a bookmark (it's peeking out!)

Mothers' Day was fab- I was spoiled with a new Kindle, and some other goodies :D, plus a lovely lunch cooked by my brother for all of the family, smashing. Unfortunately I'm off to work this morning, but the good new is that it looks like a bright, sunny day out there, just hope it's not as cold as the last couple, brrrrrrrr.

Have a good day all, and hop on over to Julia's Stamping Ground for more WOYWW desks.

For my mom

Here's my third attempt at a Mothers' Day card. Just don't ask about the first 2.... I totally cased this from a friend on Facebook.

Amazingly for me, the only stamping is For My Mum.

March calendar pages.... doodle doooooo.

Time to show you this month's calendar pages, bit of a labour of love this one.....

The spotty circles and bracketed lines are stamped, and the rest is all from the end of my pen. It's taken a while, but I love doing it, so it's been fun!

Just got to fill the days in with lots of lovely things now :)

Procrastination is the pattern of my life.

OK, so when the latest of the circle journals in my current swap arrived on my letterbox I must admit I had a little teeny tiny HUGEMONGOUS PANIC! The theme is Patterns of Life, and it threw me a tad. Actually, it threw me a lot. So, I did what all good procrastinators do and put it back into it's padded jiffy bagged prison and left it on my desk for a week....or two..... or three.......

Then I made all the other things I've blogged about this month, and tidied my sock drawer, and defluffed the tumble drier, and a million other things whilst my poor overworked solitary brain cell cogitated and thunked on it.

And then...... in the absence of an idea..... I made a start.........and this happened.....

.....and I love it! It sums up the pattern of my days exactly.

My every days are structured and have a lot of routine in them, they have to in order for me to function as a Mommy and in my job. Routine gets me to work on time and makes sure my children are fed and wearing clean clothes. It also means that my mind can get on with more interesting things......

Like making these pages, without knowing where they were going!

The first page is my doodling around an image from Chocolate Baroque. The second one is inked and sprayed to within an inch of its life, with Stampotique hearts and abstract foliage and the books stamped onto  a book page are from Unity stamps.

I'm entering this into the Stampotique Designers Challenge #88- to use text.
