Tardis....... I'm so proud!

OK, so this is THE BEST commission for a card EVER! My brief was a card for a 13 year old girl, preferably with a Tardis, a girl with the right colour hair, and as geeky as you like. Was I interested? Ermmmmm......yes!

So I made a Tardis, using the wonderful instructions on Valita's blog slightly modified.

Isn't it just wonderful? I've got to make another one for myself. The edges are inked in Pumice stone and Black soot Distress Inks. There was a lot of precision measuring and cutting out, not usually my forte, but it all went marvellously!

Now the girl gave me a few difficulties, so I went through my boxes of girl stamps (yes, boxes..... I know, I know!) and this one fit the bill. Girly, but a little bit geeky as well- stripey legs and enough hair to get a bit of reddy-pink in there. Plus, she was flying off in the sky on an adventure- I thought the Doctor would approve!

I added more balloons, for colour and added helium, and wonder of wonders, the little numbers juuuussssst fit on them! It needed sparkle (doesn't everything), so I added some shimmer dots in a very pale blue.

I'm hoping she'll like it, because I do!

And.... because I'm just a Dr Who fangirl at heart.....

Birdbrain

Last week I showed you my camouflaged fish for a blue and green swap- well the swap called for 2 ATCs, so here's my second one. I've still got about a gazillion coloured in budgies, so I used a couple on here. I think I was in a bad mood, because they really looked as if they were arguing, lol!

The eyes really pop out when you see it in person, I've put a dab of Glossy Accents on them, so they're 3D, and a little but freaky!

Buzzy buzzy bee.....

Another ATC to show off today, with a gorgeous Stampotique bee in pride of place. Used my new Stampin' Up hexagon punch in the background as well, yippee! The bee is stamped onto a book page and then very gently coloured with Promarkers, before I stiffened the wings with glossy accents.

I spied the beads just as I thought I'd finished this, and decided to bung a few on.... whaddya know, I hadn't finished after all, it needed those beads to give it some oomph.

Camouflage fish

Well, you read the title, what were you expecting?

This is for an ATC swap, with a theme of Blue and green should never be seen unless there's a colour in between.

I've made a lot of blue and green cards lately, and for some reason I'd collected a lot of slivers of offcut paper. Usually I'd have made this with ripped papers, swirls and fibres, but I kinda like the clean lines of these stripes, it's like he's swimming through a modernist painting.

Wedding gorgeousness

My lovely brother is off to Croatia this week to see some very good friends of his married. The bride loves a bit of bling, so when he asked me to make a card, I knew just what to do..... less is definitely not more with this card!

It's an easel, with a gorgeous dress stamp (one of my bargains), coloured very sparsely with promarkers. The rest of the card is bling, gems, pearls, ribbon and glitter.

Can I call this a colour scheme? Well if layers of cream is a colour scheme, I love it!

I'm pleased with the pearl swirls (ooh, that rhymes), I managed to do them freehand.

Monster cake

Doing my usual trick of colouring in images and then doing nothing with them...... I'm really trying to get through my stack of sad, neglected pictures! this one is a Bugaboo image I acquired for a DT project and didn't use, but he's kinda sweet....

I know that cake is some weird colours, but being a bit of a cake monster myself, I'd still eat it.

I'm entering this into the Cupcake challenge, kinda inspired by the pretty blue,

Oops, spelling mistake!

How embarrassing, I read the text wrong, and made a card for Joanie instead of Jeanie.........

Ah well, it'll only take a little letter E to make it right. Other than that, it's a success!

Haven't used feathers in a while, but this image needs a bit of OTT and bling.

I'm entering it into the Craft-room challenge- Bingo- Blue, flower, lace

First birthday. First car.

I was asked to make a first birthday card for a boy- a little bit boyish, a little bit cute.

Mabel Lucie Attwell images just sing out to me, I love his shiny red car. By happy accident the Kay & co papers worked with the image, I really should start choosing my papers before I colour the image......

The huge Happy Birthday is from a foam set I bought second hand, fab typewriter letters.

Castles in the air.......bright!

Another card commission today- this one was made for Mom to give someone- very unusual, as Mom's a card maker too, so she doesn't usually ask me!

I like the colours on this one, really bright and zingy. Plus I like the idea of the dragon asleep on the red and yellow tiles.

The stamped postmark is there to represent a sun, I had plans to colour it yellow, but in the end I liked it just as it was.

Crafting Musketeers GDT- a cheeky monkey

I'm happy to be the Guest Designer on the Crafting Musketeers challenge blog this month. The challenge is a sketch-

I'd got a card in mind that fit this sketch perfectly.

Aw, I forgot how much I like Changito monkey. The papers are from a 12x12 American Crafts stack I had for my birthday. I've resolved not to be stingy with my papers- after all I can always buy more right? Not that I'll ever run out.......

Check out the challenge, there's a whole month to have a go!

I'm also entering this into the Crafty Cardmakers challenge- 1 image, 2 patterned papers, 3 embellishments (eyelets, string, raffia)

A little bit crafty- Summer sun

Hello! Time for my August DT post for the A Little Bit Crafty challenge blog.

A Little Bit Crafty DT Blog

This month's challenge is Summer Sun. We've had a lovely few weeks, although the sun does seem to have disappeared this week- typical, just as I have time off work with my children!!! Ah well, more crafting time, right?

My DT piece this month is a picture made from lots of punched butterflies. This one is in purple and cream shades.

The edges of the butterflies are sparked, and there are little gems in the centre of each one.

And a pink one! Hope you like them, if you want to buy one, get in touch, I'm selling!

Over to you, come and say hi on the A Little Bit Crafty  challenge blog and show us some summer sunshine.
