.....and things to do......

The challenge at Stampotique Designer's Blog this week is vintage.
So I spent a little time yesterday altering this little notebook.

Like my new suitcases stamp? I do!

France Papillion's stacked suitcases and birdy Stampotique stamps are stamped onto a book page, then pencil watercoloured. The background is splodged Distress Inks and doodling!

Fairy godmother kisses

My little girl has a lovely fairy Godmother, so this year we made her a fairy card.

Lots of Lavinia stamps on this one :) The background is made with the good old smacked acetate technique (or splodge, spray and dunk.....), there's a little tutorial here if you want it!

I took a couple more pics, to try to get the sparkle to show- I'm usually a Stickle devotee, but this time I went for Glamour Dust........which got EVERYWHERE..... which reminded me why I use Stickles.....

Glamour Dust is very pretty though, and dries much swifter. I used Distress Inks for the background- Peacock feathers and Pickled raspberry, then Versafines for the overstamping.

I'm entering this into the Simon Says Wednesday challenge- Anything goes with buttons
and also into the Craft Room challenge- Transport......well, how do you think fairies get around? Those wings must get dirty, lol.
I'm also entering it into the That's Crafty, Inky Anctics challenge,
and the Cupboard Trilogy challenge- Mothers.

Have a lovely, fairytale Mother's Day!

I'm entering this into the very apt Try it on Tuesday challenge which is Music
and Allsorts challenge which is All about the boy

New DT, new card!

OK, so I looked at the quality of blogging going on by my new That Craft Place DT buddies and thought I'd better up my game!

I spent this morning doodling and generally faffing around and made this.....

Paperarsty stamps, ooh how I love those little houses, use them A LOT! The background was a left over bit from something else, but made with Distress Inks and water and splodging (technical term there......). The hill and bubbles and bottom section are all doodled, which makes me happy!

So That Craft Place..... it's a shop physical and virtual, and a bit of a Facebook phenomenon for some of us!
If you fancy a look, try out........
That Craft Place - the online shop

I'm in Team B, so we'll be lurking and chatting and posting on the Facebook Natter and Chatter group for a couple of months, and then taking over the challenge blog once the A Team have done their thing. Should be fun!!!!

Hope your Sunday has been treating you well, be happy!

You'll never guess what?

Something good's happened. Really, really good. I've been asked to join the design team for That Crafty Place. Look, I gots me my own banner and everything.

Exciting huh? I'm raring to get going!

Shut up!

Now here's something I hadn't taken into account when taking photos of my creations. I quite often lie my makes down on some interesting paper as a nice background. Well, when I did it with my wise owl....... it didn't look quite right.

It fights with the background. Now compare it to this.....

Now I think that makes old owlie pop out a bit.

I'm thinking of blowing this up to A1 size and hanging it over my desk at work. Yes, it's been that sort of week. Already.

I'm entering this into the Stampotique Designer's challenge 137- Textured backgrounds. I made this using the Distress Ink, spritz and dunk technique, for lots of foliage type texture in the background. Plus some background stamping. I also like to stamp over a dark background with white ink for a spot more impact.

Anyway, better take my owl's advice, eh? Shut up Lisa!

Chatterbox the angel

Dontcha just love it when a background just works?

I did a spot of splodging Distress Inks onto my craft mat- you know the drill, water spritz, dunk the card, repeat until happy........

I went for greens mainly with a touch of blue on this ATC. Then I remembered that the latest Stampotique Designer's challenge is to use green, so.......Mort had to have green clothes. He looked kinda sad, so I found him a spare pair of wings and promoted him to angel.

Anyone wanna swap?

Freakin' awesome!

I'm typing with inky fingers, yay! Always a sign of a day well spent.

I wanted to enter the colour challenge at a sprinkle of imagination, I really fancied stamping onto grey card, just for a change you know.....

This little ATC makes me smile! The Stampin' Up flower is heat embossed in a lush green powder that I'd forgotten all about until today. Great on the black isn't it?
Hunk is stamped onto pale grey card, but I have washed his ace with a touch of green to give him that proper Igor glow......

I used ink black, vivid green, slate blue and pale grey from the suggested colour palette.

Gilded butterfly

So....a Saturday or two ago I took my Mom to a demo at Crafty Bunch in Telford (great shop, full of so many pretties......), where Kay from Indigo Blu was showing lots of fab techniques and stamps and all sorts of gorgeousness.

Well, inspired to get my gilding flakes and flitter glue out, I made this.....

OK, the gilding isn't showing up on that photo.... how about this one?

Now I couldn't find my scoochy thingy to scrub off all of the excess flakes, but I really don't care, because it still looks fabulouso.

The butterfly is Stampin' Up and it's huuuuuuge. The finished card is a retirement card, so I kept the colours quite subtle, but then ruined the subtlety with 3/4 of a pack of blingy pearls....hey ho....not called Lisa Sparkle for nothing you know.

I'm entering this into the That's Crafty challenge, which is Anything Goes and the Papertake weekly challenge which is also Anything goes.

Are we there yet? A Little Bit Craft DT time.

March? MARCH? Are you sure? Flippin' 'eck, this year's going a bit quickly, I haven't quite got used to writing 2014 yet, and here we are in March!!! It's true that time speeds up as you get older.

A Little Bit Crafty DT Blog

Anyhoo, if it's March, then the good news is that it's time for a new challenge at A Little Bit Crafty. Yippee! The theme this month is- Are we there yet? Ooh, a few ways of interpreting this one..... I went for a destination, a cityscape canvas.

I'm using the old masking fluid technique again, with a Stampotique cityscape stamp.  OK, that's working, now let's add lots of Dylusion spray inks- reds, orange, yellow, a spot of white and granite. Splodge it about with some bubble wrap for interest....... yay, my fingers are inky :)

Oops, that yellow bit looks like a sun, so let's add some stencilled circles in Distress Inks and emboss them gold.... While the heat gun is hot, might as well add some embossed white text.......

A couple of words from a text stamp- destination and place on tissue paper, with some glossy accents to make them pop out? Oh go on then......

A few choice phrases from Pride and prejudice to finish. Yup.

OK, I like it. Phew!

There are some amazing prizes up for grabs this month, so get over to the blog and check out the fabulous Design Team inspiration.
