Up! And cake!

I picked up the loveliest stamp and die set from Hobbycraft a few weeks back. It's for the cute little house from Up! It does have balloon dies with it, but I found it easier to use some punches I'd already got. I made some panels and then turned them into bookmarks and cards.

I've also got the best cake to show you today. I was given some rhubarb, so I made thubarb and custard cake, yum.

L plates

I needed a congratulations on passing your driving test card, and had a brainwave for something simple but effective.

Good eh? Works for anyone with an L in their name!

Thanks for looking.

Sweet girl

I was lucky enough to win a prize from the lovely Cal Summers which she gave me at the last Crop Central. It was a kit for a double page spread from a previous event. I decided to go a little bit off piste and create something else with my goodies!

It was a tricky one- I ended up cutting a template out of scrap paper which I transferred onto the coloured card.

The gemsa re fab- 3 different sizes. I wanted it to look like water droplets splattered on the page.

I outlined the sunbursts with black fineliner. When don't I get my black pen out, eh?

Turf

A layout made at my recent crop attendance. I love this photo. It was an impulse take at an American football GB trials day my son was attending. It was a day of waiting around, watching and standing on astro turf. I love the green.

I went for black and white with green to make it pop. I like using one colour with black and white, it makes the photo stand out. I won the little tassel in a pass the parcel game at the crop. Perfect timing!

The doily stamp is from Sstampin Up and the French script is an old favourite stamp, I've probably used it more than any other stamp ever.

I cut a small glassine envelope in two to make it stretch- the grid stamp is Stampin' Up too.

I'm happy with this one. Favourite boots and a favoutie layout.

I'm my own kind of beautiful mini book

I made this little book at the Crop Central crop I went to last week. It's slightly bigger than A5, with a concertina centre. I stuck in some ribbons to tie it shut.

Inside cover- the arrows are cut from off cut scraps.

Looks nice all together- I'm intending it to be a gift, so I haven't added any photos yet- I may, but then again I may just let them put their own in.

I sandwiched the ribbons between the back cover and the insert.

The back cover has little I Am affirmations on, and I went round everything with black ink- I find it gives it all definition.

Thanks for looking!

Crop!

I'd never been to a crop until a week ago when I attended one organised by Cal Summers not far away from me, just into Staffordshire, called Crop Central. Cick on the link for more info. I found it on Facebook and Cal and the ladies at the crop couldn't have been more welcoming.

I'll admit to a minor panic about what to take with me- I whittled it down to as much as I could carry, lol. This is my little tote bag stuffed to the seams.

And no, that's not a bottle of wine, it's my water bottle! I also took the wheelie crate you can just see peeking out behind with all my 12x12s and other essentials.

I had a very generous table all to myself, and some lovely people to chat to all day.

I made a few layouts and a lovely little mini book- I'll show you in the next couple of posts, but here's the first layout I completed.

I chose to work in black, white, grey and yellow. I stamped the spodges down the side and splashed some yellow paint droplets onto the page as well.

I picked out a few camera elements with the right colours, and lots of appropriate words and tags.

The believe is sparkly and it's a Thicker.

Oh, and the star of the piece, a little cardboard pouch gifted to me by Sarah, one of the other croppers. She'd had some photos in it, and very kindly gave it to me when I commented on it. it matched perfectly, and I'll be using it to store my journalling.

Anyway I'm sold on going to a crop, can't wait for next month!

First car

A scrapbook layout to show you today. The photo was taken last year when my boy got his first car. I used the colour of his jacket to pull it all together, so the teal featured throughout as an accent.

I swooshed the ink pad down the side of the page to even up the layout. I also re-used some pretty paper bags- the pale aqua stripes and the white with black squares. I love to recycle.
