Pretty fairy frog

I've been making cards. Lots of cards.

I'd got a box of coloured in images- loads of them, so I spent the bank holiday weekend matching papers and cards, adding ribbon and bling and making up cards.

This one is a Sweet Pea stamp- love the odd eyes on the frog.....

The sentiment is Lili of the Valley, and kinda fits well. It's all stamped in brown for a softer edge, and coloured in Promarkers.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Try it on Tuesday- Feminine and fancy
Papertake- Anything goes (optional extra to use 2 stamps)

ATC Challenge blog- anything goes or a Mermaid

It's time for a new challenge over on the ATC challenge blog, so if you're an ATCer, get over there. This fortnight, the challenge is mermaids or anything goes.....

This is a lovely Sweet Pea stamps that has been languishing unloved in my stamps for ages. It was nice to dust her off and ink her up.

I've painted it in with Distress Inks, and her body is sparkly- which doesn't come across well on the photo. Lots of pearls to finish her off and voila!

If you fancy being on the ATC Challenge Design Team, there's a call out at the moment. Come and join us, it's fun!

I'm going to enter this into the Papertake weekly challenge, which is anything goes, with optional added bling!

Sweetie sweet pea....and a frog.

OK, I think I'm getting the hang of these cuter than cute cards now. The trick is that when you think you've finished, you carry on and it all works out in the end!!!!

I enjoyed colouring this one- the ubiquitous Promarkers- I quite enjoy an area where I can get my shading going, so her dress was spot on!

The odd highlight with a white gel pen really makes a difference as well.

I admit I did go slightly mad with the pearls, but as I said....worked out nicely in the end!!!!

Halloween card- well it would be rude not to......

I didn't take much in the way of craft stash on our holiday last week, but I did manage to sneak in a few stamped images and a box of Promarkers..... then did the "oops, how did they get there" face! There wasn't time for a lot of colouring but I managed to fit in an hour, and knowing that all the Halloween challenges would be about I coloured this smashing Sweet Pea image.

Then today I spent some time making it into this card.

The background is stamped with a fab spotty stamp I've had forever, and it's sooooo useful. The papers were originally cream and black, but I swooshed on a dab of Dusty Concord Distress ink. The quote is from my favourite Shakespeare play, The Tempest- " we are such stuff as dreams are made on".

I chose the purple card to fit in with the Tuesday Taggers' Deep Purple theme- especially as they're sponsored by The Craft Barn this week!

Did I mention that it's an easel card? Here's the side view.

Now bear with me, cos I'm entering this into a few challenges.......

Tuesday Taggers- Halloween with Deep Purple
Sweet Pea Stampers- Easel card
In a Sweet Pea Dream- Things with wings
Penny's Challenges- Black, purple and orange
Wild flower patch- Anything Halloween
Totally Gorjuss- Spooky

Alice....what's the matter?

OOh, I loved that song- (Alice, what's the matter by Terrorvision for anyone wondering what I'm going on about) now I'm singing it in my little head.......

I'd coloured a gorgeous Sweet Pea image in with Promarkers ages ago, so I set to making it into a card yesterday and this is the finished article.

I know the cat is a bit freaky, but the Cheshire cat is meant to be a bit unsettling!! I know exactly who this one is going to- quite often I don't make cards "for" people, but just because the inspiration strikes. What about you- are yours all made with someone in mind?

I'm entering this one into the following....
Stamp Something- Spots and Stripes
Sweet Pea Stampers- Sketch
Tuesday Taggers- Books (Alice in Wonderland)

Ingredients

Stamps- Sweet Pea, Whispers sentiment
Inks- Memento black
Card/Paper- Glitter Paper, 7 Gypsies (text) rest from stash
Stash- Gems, paper flowers, button, Stickles

Ice cream colours....yum

This card started with the backing paper. This is a piece I've been saving for ages just because I liked it. You know that feeling right? Keeping some piece of card, or paper or stash because you like it too much? Well I'm fighting the urge and using my stash at the moment. I've got waaaaay too much, so I have to use some before I get any more.

The flowers are punched, and I used brown to make the colour scheme a little bit less sickly, lol.

Ingredients
Stamp- Sweet Pea's Purple Woods
Promarkers- Vanilla, Ivory, Saffron, Cool Grey 1 &2,  Pastel Pink, Cocktail Pink, Antique Pink, Cocoa, Terracotta, Buttercup, Tulip Yellow
Papers, pearls and ribbon from stash

I'm entering this into:

Papertake Weekly challenge- Ice cream colours (neopolitan!!!)
Sweet Pea Stampers- Sketch
Ooh La La- Flourishes and pearls

Mini sunflower canvas- Crafts and Me challenge

I've finally had the energy to make something! It's a little canvas I bought from Dunelm a while ago, about 3 inches square. The challenge over at Crafts and Me is ANYTHING BUT A CARD, so I thought I'd try using a Sweet Pea stamp on it.

I painted the canvas with Claudine Hellmuth Ranger Studio semi-gloss paints in Dab of Yellow and Altered Orange. Once it was dry I used the lid from a  pritt stick to make some rings in Pastel Yellow and some gold acrylic paint. I quite like the current trend for splodgy paint circles!

I stamped the Sweet Pea stamp Sunflower Angel onto card already coloured using the smacking acetate technique and Distress Inks. A bit of a cut out and some gold gel pen highlights and she was ready to be stuck on to the canvas.

I think that the mottled effect works well. I added some ribbon as her puppet strings, clear stickles to enhance the wings, and some flowers and buttons to finish it off. The words are stamped onto tissue paper.

Loving these Sweet Pea stamps!

Three Goddesses, Two challenges, One image!

I've not been feeling brilliant of late, so I've spent some time quietly colouring in some images I stamped a few days ago. It's kept me busy whilst I haven't been able to dash around like I normally seem to be. Ive made a few of the images up into cards.

This is one of the Sweet Pea stamps I won over at the Crafts and Me blog last week. This is my entry for the current challenge over there at the moment which is to Pink/Yellow/Brown. Here's a close up.

I've used Stickles and white gel pen to pop the image out a little bit. The paper and vellum in the background are from my stash and the raffia was tied round the wrapping on a present!

Then I had a go at the I <3 Promarkers blog challenge which is to use Black and White and one other colour. After seeing Vixykins gorgeous entry I was inspired to have a go at colouring an image in greyscale.

I went for flesh pink as my other colour, so I hope that counts. It's the same image again, coloured in shades of Ice Grey Promarkers. She's mounted on grey and black card and white glitter card. The ribbon is sheer black and I've used diamond black stickles. Another close up.......

Finally I had a go at her in shades of red and yellow.

This version was stamped onto a smacked acetate background, then stamped again onto white card. This was then coloured with Promarkers, the goddess was cut out and layered into the stamped background. I wanted to try a different card fold, so I went for this one. Cool eh?

The fab Stampin Up Baroque swirls are stamped in Versafine and clear heat embossed. The beautiful flower on the front section was made by my friend Kay, using a couple of HUGE flower punches she got at the NEC........and more Stickles of course!

Out of my comfort zone

As I blogged a couple of post ago, I recently won a plate of Sweet Pea stamps. They arrived very promptly and it seemed churlish not to ink them up straight away..... I had a sheet of watercolour paper that I'd coloured using the smacking acetate technique, so I thought I'd use that as a background. It's a bit different from stamping onto white and colouring the image.....

It's just ATC size, and the orange and yellow background gives quite a dark finished look, but I really like how the splodgy effect shows through the colouring. I have coloured the image with Promarkers, mainly in oranges and reds, and then used my faithful white gel pen to lift it a little. I finished it with a bit of bling from orange peel and turquoise Stickles. Not my usual style of stamp at all, but I must admit I'm really chuffed with the result and I'm totally converted to being a Sweet Pea fan.
