Dad's girl

Two of my lovelies snuggled up on holiday last year. The papers are a bit old, but I liked the colours!

The whole layout started with those stamped stars. I had some left over, and wanted to use them up- isn't that how a lot of projects start? I'm liking the white glitter too- it's a cosmic shimmer one I think.

Love cats

Aw. I miss my Loki cat. He's no longer with us, but he was such good mates with his (adopted) sister Luna. They were always thundering up and down the stairs chasing one another. Spot the cat stamp peeking out on the right.

The love is 3D and wooden, until I got a black promarker on it, now it's 3D, wooden and black.

I went for multiple layers on this one, with washi and lots of understamping in related colours. Ooh look how well the #awesome turned out. I can't remember if that's on purpose, but I'm claiming it anyway!

Loving an enamel dot. Or 3.

I am grateful- TN

Another traveller's notebook page made to a prompt- What are you grateful for? Well I'm grateful for my husband, he's a gem amongst men. Really he is.

For some reason I'd taken photos before and after darkening the lettering!

I'd slapped a bit of paint on this one to try to pull the colours together with the blue, and the pink to lift it a bit- successful I think!

Curls- TN

I've already confessed my love for these spectacular spectacles stamps, so I won't do it again. Fantastic in black though, aren't they?

Perfect for a page in the TN about my lovely little spectacles wearer having her magnificent mane of hair curled. I'd dripped orange paint down the page, so I went for a black and orange theme.

The photo is a PixPax one, and I'd had it printed with the caption already on it. Jury's out on whether I really like that, but it looks nice on this page.

Mini Me

OK so first things first. I love these glasses stamps. Picked up on the free, needs a new home table at my monthly crop. What a bargain! I'd have happily paid for these, and I love them more than chocolate. Well, no, maybe not more than cadbury's but I'd definitely give you galaxy for them.

For this 12 x 12 layout I used a scrap of hearts paper and painted the hearts to match my stamped specs. Worked out pretty well I thought.

I wanted a spot of bling, so I added gems in matching colours too. And black pen, gotta have the black pen...

Luv a duck

My favourite layout from this month's Crop to show today. I'm so chuffed with how it turned out! Hvae to say it's a favourite photo from our 2016 Disney trip- I love my girl's hair, and the angle, and Donald was fabulous.

This started with the stamped strip. I've been planning this for a few weeks after a chance Pinterest viewing (what else!). I ripped a page of A4 in half and lightly washi taped it down, then stamped a lot of teeny stamps in black Versafine, overlapping the torn paper edged. Once I'd filled it in quite densely, I sponged some Peeled Paint Distress ink onto the edges.

Then came the search for a photo. Probably should have started there, right? I dunno, sometimes I do, sometimes I go with the flow and then try to find a photo that fits, colour/theme-wise. This time I struck gold. Donald's jacket is green, and if you look closely...there are ducks in the stamping! Karma? I think so.

I was equally pleased with the title- luv a duck seemed appropriate and the alphas were another snag from the freebie table at Crop. Perfect, right?

Another Disney layout for the album.

Fish are friends, not food!

Oooh, ATC time. The crop I now go to each month- Crop Central- has started an ATC swap, which makes me very happy. I miss making ATCs and swapping them, and I was so happy to get back into the miniature groove!

Having said that, the Under the Sea theme gave me pause. I dug out my fish and reptiles stamp drawer, which just reminded me how much I love my stamps, and how gorgeous that big frog stamp is, and then I promptly went on to making other things and just kept looking at the reptily fishy goodness hoping for inspiration.

Anyone else do this? Well it didn't arrive really, so I stamped my favourites on an offcut of painty/inked card and carried on from there.

The fishes got watercoloured, gently. Then I stuck white tissue paper scraps on. I liked that, so on went pink tissue paper.

Yesterday I decided to sponge through sequin waste for a bit of greenery, and then had a little bubble brainwave, so out came the seed beads and glossy accents. Don't know if it shows up, but the eyes are glossy accented too, for extra bulge.

I still wasn't really feeling them though, I posted on the Facebook group that I was ready to start again, but then had one last pop at them.

I cut out cartoony submarines from some cool underwater paper and added a few Finding Nemo quotes, and whaddya know? I like them! I need to re do the words on the one below, because my black pen went a bit wonky, but otherwise I'm happy.

They're all a bit odd, but so am I, so that's cool.

Summer

Another page from the July Crop Central today.

Not quite sure what prompted this one. I went for the photo first and edged it with my favourite drippy goo punch. After that it seemed sensible to go for some other drips- orange to match H's top.

I had a little stamp set with me at crop, and only a black ink pad, so I stamped! The scribbled circle is from an old Lollipop Box Club kit. I use it so much. I added some extra doodled swirls and circled and dots.

Dad

I'm secretly very pleased with this year's Father's Day card for my smashing Dad. Well, not so secret now it's on here, right?

The background was made a few days before, and I lopped a section off an A4 sheet to make this card. I added a few bars of music in black and the sentiment.

The DAD letters are Thickers.

Matted onto black it was a simple one to make.

And te ribbon brings it all together.

Close up

It was my second visit to the Central Crop this weekend. I finished 3 layouts and I'm halfway through a third, so not too bad but I do need to quicken up a bit. I had a lovely time chatting away though!

This layout was the product of a little challenge from 2 of my fellow cropees. I've had a funny little stamp kit with me- this one here.

I was challenged to use all of the stamps together. They are an eclectic mix...

I went for a technique I've used before- I masked off an area on the background, then added splodges of ink and lots and lots of stamping.

Kinda works, right? It needed a weird photo to match, so I chose this one of our lovely weird Luna cat.

Best things

I made a little card for someone who needed a boost, and these bits kinda fit together.

It's a 6x6 card, and I used lots of bits from Lollipop Box Club. The paper is from a really old kit.

The tag and doily are from a more recent kit- I like using tags, they're a great focal point on a card.

The Best things stamp I've had forever, and the little stars are from a LBC kit too- I've since lost the stamp, I know it's stuck to something on my desk, but I've yet to find it1

And my next project-  I'm crocheting a bag to keep my crochet in....

Planner stickers- I've got this!

Ooh I love making things! I haven't been inky in ages, and I loved getting into properly making stuff yesterday.

I have had a Lollipop Box Club box over Christmas and I wanted to use some of the gorgeousness, but I'm always a bit tentative when it comes to diving in and using new goodies. I have to overcome my squirrelling away tendencies slowly...

So, I used some of the paper, the sweet little stamp set of stars and scribbled circle, and the feather/leaf stencil. I plan in a classic Happy Planner, and although I have bought stickers specifically for it, I quite like the idea of making things that are personal to me. So, I made some "stickers" for next week.

I started off with a 5x3inch piece of pale blue paper, enough o make 4.5x2.5 inch blocks. I stencilled with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and stamped with yellow and pink Impress inks. It looked like this-

I then cut it into 4 blocks and added stickers from the LBC box, some offset at an angle, and another one cut down into single words- fiddly but I do love some words on things I create.

My black and white pens came out- doodling round the edges, and round the stickers.

A top tip is to use white pen to make things pop. I love my Posca pen, and the white dots on the stars make them shine!

Finally- here's how it looks in my planner. I'm not one for oodles of decoration, but I love how these look.
