New Stamp Man challenge 4- Music

It's time for another Stamp Man challenge. For all the details and to see the my team mates' fabulous creations, get over to the challenge blog here.

So.....the challenge for this fortnight is Music. I used the Stamp Man's gorgeous Aspects of Design Classical Instruments stamp sheet on my DT card.

The guitar is highlighted with Glossy Accents to give it a bit of gloss and to make it stand out, although it's hard to see in the photo. The black notes are punched. Once I chose the background paper I decided on a co-ordinating flash of lime green to bring it all together.

Don't forget, there's a prize to be won- a voucher to spend on lovely, lovely stash at The Stamp Man for one lucky crafter.

Ingredients

Stamps- Aspects of Design 60 Classical Instruments
Inks- Versafine Onyx Black
Card/Paper- Black card, Design paper, Music vellum, Green card

A few thank you cats.......

...yep, thank you cats, that's right. What says thank you more than a fat cat with flowers on? Well, OK, I'm stretching it a bit there, but hey, you work with what you've got, right? And at our crafting day on Thursday at Michelle's, Kay had brought her fat cat stamp, so I took full advantage!!

I needed 5 thank you ATCs all together, so I made three of this first one......

......plus one of these........

............and finally one of these..

Backgrounds on the first 4 are made by just plonking some Stampin' Up ink pads onto the card. They have a kind of woven pad on them, and it makes a lovely pattern. The background on the last one is smacked acetate technique with a lovely diamond pattern stamped onto it.

The swirl stamp round the edges is one of my bargains from Whitby, by Inkadinkado. Best go and get them ready to post, before I forget!!!!

I'm entering the first ATC on this post into the following challenges-

Drunken Stampers- Cats
Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge- Think flowers
Crafty Catz- Animals

WOYWW....again already!!!!

Morning all! Welcome to yet another What's on your workdesk Wednesday. I'm on day one of a 3 week break from work, and the sun's shining, so a great day ahead I hope....... here's my desk!

Off out in a mo for an appointment with Miss Little Legs, but first job when I get back is to tidy that desk up!! I haven't touched it since I got back from the Liffy DC meet on Saturday, except to put more stuff onto it. You should be able to spot......

2 gorgeous button fairies from CarolV's swap that arrived yesterday
Lots of images stamped at the meet on Saturday (lots more stamps on my wish list now.....)
A couple of Stampotique stamps for an idea I had last night but ran out of oomph for- maybe later today.......

Anyway, I'm off to have a look round some more desks, if you want to follow me, come to Julia's Stamping Ground for a list.

Gothic architecture and new stamps

We were on holiday last week, and had a fabby week near Scarborough. We visited the gorgeous Whitby Abbey, which is a real Gothic treat.

That's Miss Little Legs in the foreground. She and her big brother loved the Abbey, lots to explore. Anyway........whilst we were at Whitby I happened across a lovely little craft shop (googled before I got there, but don't tell himself, tee hee), called Daisy Crafts. It was well worth the minor subterfuge, because they had a 75% off sale on all their wooden stamps. Bless him, I really do have a fantastic husband, he only raised his eyebrows slightly when I emerged 3/4 hour later with a big bag full.....

All of that for just over £30. Well, plus another one, but that's a pressie so I can't reveal it yet. Bargain! I've only had chance to ink one of them up so far. Here's Mme Berth in ATC form.

Stamped acetate background (again, must get some other backgrounds made), plus a bit of Promarker and white gel pen action. Black stickles and an inked edge to set her off and that's another Luffy swap in the bag.

WOYWW

Hello WOYWWers! Sorry I've been AWOL for a week or two. life has sorta got in the way of blogging, but I'm not apologising, cos that's just as it should be! We were on our hols last week- a week in lovely Yorkshire, but more of that later, firstly- my desk.......

A complete mess! I'm in the middle of making several ATCs for a Docrafts meet at Loughborough this weekend. I was puttering along nicely until I realised I hadn't made any swaps to take with me, so now I'm on a mission, lol.

Alos on there are some new 7 Gypsies papers which were a bargain online from somewhere (argh, can't remember where!), my new Craft Stamper mag, my little adhesives box, and lots of pieces of cut up champagne cork.

If you want to see more desks, go to Julia's blog HERE for more nosying potential.

Wow, time flies.......... another Stamp Man ATC swap month already!!!

I can't believe it's a month since we started The Stamp Man's ATC swaps!! Where had the time gone? Well whilst we're all waiting for our Wings swaps to arrive (I can't wait, there were some STUNNING entries), it's time to get working on this month's theme, which is.............Time!

My first swap is made with The Stamp Man's Aspects of Design Butterfly Beauties stamp plate.

The background is made using my beloved smacking acetate technique, with lots of different colours of Distress Inks. I'm a big believer in waste not, want not, so if I have some smudges of ink left on my craft mat after ink blending I spritz it with water and dip some ATC backgrounds in. This one was probably dipped in 3 or 4 times over a few weeks.

The butterfly is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and the words are computer generated. I doodled lines around the words and the edges of the ATC then matted onto black card. It needed a lift, so out came the Stickles!

Hope you all feel like joining in, for all the details, take a look here or click on the blinkie in my sidebar.

It has been a bit of a manic week and weekend for me, so hopefully I'll be back into the creating and blogging routine. I need to make lots of swaps for the Docrafts meet next weekend at Luffy (woohoo, looking forward to it!!!!), so must get on.
