Hello Kiki

I've been itching to use this photo of our beautiful Kiki cat since I took it. Isn't she gorgeous? Another scraplift from Mind the Scrap, but such a good idea, to use those offcuts, the branding strips and little scraps. I'll be doing it again!

I started off placing it all out, then stuck the strips down quite randomly really. I just tried to make sure there were no 2 the same next to each other, and to balance the dark and light strips.

Once I'd chosen the sparkly Hello as the title, I used gold to frame the photo to pull it together.

Couple of secrets....
1. I didn't have 2 K's left in the alphabet, so I cut the rounded bit off a capital R to make the lower case K. Worked out OK, didn't it?

2. The strips behind the photo are all really short bits, I just cut them in half and tucked them behind the photo so that they looked longer.

I think this may be my favourite page so far!

Yay! It;s your birthday!

Today's page is a scrap lift of a scrap-along from Mind the Scrap. I even went for the same colour scheme. The photos are from my son's birthday meal out on Christmas Eve, and I trimmed them down to 3.5" square.

I've adored the cassette tape sticker since I first saw it, and despite the fact that none of the kids in the photos would know what one was, it seemed to fit on this layout.

It needed another pop of the yellow on the other side to even things up, so I went for a flower tucked in.

The original design had a stitched border drawn on, but when I'd finished mine, it looked kinda wonky, so I turned it into a wavy doodled line instead. Much better! I was also pleased with the alphabets. Hand on heart, I wasn't very keen on these alphabets when they came in the Mind the Scrap kit, but they've been much more versatile than I thought.

Smile

Ever liked a layout so much that you do it all over again? I enjoyed my Red Belt layout, and once you have it all sorted out, it's a short cut to creating another page.

I changed the colour scheme, obviously, but kept most of the elements in the same place.

I echoed the teal, pink, black and gold on the bird paper, and it was easy to pull together.

I'm a real fan of cutting papers or cards in half to make them go a little further. I did it with the heart card, and the stripey pieces. The gem dots add a spot of shine.

Red belt

I have a little pile of favourite photos that I want to scrap. Just ones that have caught my eye over the years, they don't tell a story or fit together particularly, but now that I'm into scrapbooking properly, I wanted to document the photos that make me smile. So today's photo is a few years old, but it's one that I adore.

I'm still using the Mind the Scrap February kit, and there's even a few bit on here from the January kit as well. I was going for red and black to match the taekwondo dobok and belt, but the pink and purple snuck in.

the little red flower is made of puffy stickers, which I've struggled to use to be honest, they just haven't called to me at all! I'm pleased with how they work as a little flower though and the XOXO and little messages pulls together with the XOXO paper across the middle of the page.

I fussy cut the black leaves from a Maggie Holmes paper (I used it here). Honestly, I was just trying out fussy cutting the fronds, to see if would work on a bigger scale, but they were so cute, I had to use them.

There's a lot going on with this page, but I think the back balances it out and pulls it all back together. The black spotty card and the black spotty washi kind of anchor it.

The alphas are the Amy Tangerine translucent ones I've used before. I didn't think I'd use these are all, but they've worked really well in a couple of projects now, and I've got loads left. I used them as journaling here rather than as the title.

Paper: from MTS Feb kit
Crate Paper- Main squeeze- Match made
Maggie Holmes- Flourish- Anne

Good times ahead

Another Disney layout, and another following a sketch I found on the Mind the Scrap group. It had these circles on it, and I've been thinking about stitching on a page, so I went for it. I drew round a couple of pots in pencil to get the shapes, and then punched holes with a pokey tool.

The photo is the view from the boat across the lagoon looking at the castle in the Magic Kingdom, so I wanted to use the paper with the little boats.

Most of the papers and embellishments are from Mind the Scrap, except for the washi and the teeny gem dots. The dots are from a local pound shop, in the kids' section, and they are soooo reflective.

I quite enjoyed sitting in front of the telly stitching away, and it looks fab.

Pink Paislee- Paige Evans- Pick me up

Embellishments:

Hooray!

I nabbed this layout from a scrap along on the Mind the Scrap group. I went for muted tones to match the bird paper, which I looooove.

I printed the journaling off for this one, it needed something neater than my handwriting. The sketch called for a few stars, but I think I went slightly over the top.

The punch is from Stampin' Up and I've had it forever, but it comes out so regularly, it's one of my all time favourites.

Celebrate

Hollywood Studios! We enjoyed finding the park photographers and having our pics taken. We had a deal where the Memory Maker was included, which meant all photos and videos taken in the Disney parks were free. We made the most of it!

This layout is taken from a Mind the Scrap scrap along video. I loved the circles, and recreated them on the black card using a white Posca pen and a plate. I flicked white ink from the pen in the corners.
I'd recommend a Posca pen, they come in different nib sizes and colours You have to give them a shake and press the nib in to release the ink, and the white really pops off the page.

Papers are from the Mind the Scrap Feb kit again, with a few extra elements from Simple Stories' Say Cheese. The white film strip is from a Lollipop Box Club kit, and I used paper and stickers from the Say Cheese set.

The Celebrate is from Dear Lizzy (MTS kit again) and I punched some white and black Mickey heads for contrast. I'm really please with this one, it's pretty and bright and pops off the page. the blue floral paper is actually the branding strip from another sheet of paper that I'd already used... it's worth keeping them!

Welcome home

More Disney happiness to show you today. Every day on holiday we would drive under the Walt Disney World arch and sign. every single time I got misty eyed and took half a dozen photos in the excitement of nearly being in the happiest place on earth!

I picked up these cute little flags from a local Home Bargains shop for about £1 a packet- bargain! And I still have loads left in the packet. The alphabet stickers are from the Mind the Scrap February kit, they're translucent, so they work really well on the kraft flags.

The paper is mostly from the MTS kit too- I'm sneaky and I gut the back of the papers to make the most of my stash!

Elements:

Paper:
Pebbles- Forever my always- Mint dot- from MTS kit
Red spotty from my stash

Card- Bazzill Kraft from MTS kit

Minnie and me

Oh this was the most wonderful day. We met lots of characters in Epcot, and the photos were brilliant. I had to go full on red with white spots for this layout!

I kept this quite simple, but couldn't resist a bow and some sparkly bubbles.

The Simple Stories Say Cheese sets are fabulous- this is a cut out from Say Cheese Iii.

Paper: from my stash
Embellishments: Say Cheese I and Say Cheese III- Simple Stories
Sparkly dots from my stash

We made it!

So I'm scraping my Disney photos. Finally! I bought some of the Simple Stories Say Cheese collections- I just mix and matched the bits I liked from each one (there are 3).

Arriving in the Magic Kingdom on our first day in Walt Disney World was the most wonderful day. It had been over a year in the planning, and was the culmination of decades of me wanting to go to Florida. Seeing the castle was everything I thought it would be, and I got slightly misty-eyed...

I used a strip of 12x12 paper, and added one of the cut apart journalling cards

I used various elements from the sticker sheets to bring the photos together. It needed a pop of red here and there.

The tickets were cut out from a 12x12 paper sheet, and it was covered in them, so I have lots more!

So now I've made a start, I have a few hundred more pics to scrap...

Can't wait! Think I'm going to need more stash though..

Elements:

Paper- Simple Stories Say Cheese III- 4x6 Horizontal elements
Simple Stories Say Cheese III- Wish upon a star
Simple Stories Say Cheese III- What a blast

Embellishments- Simple Stories Say Cheese III- Combo cardstock stickers
Simple Stories Say Cheese- Expressions cardstock stickers

Memories

Another Disneyworld layout! This has been on my desk for a few days, and I keep being distracted by the blue, blue sky. Sigh, I'd go back tomorrow....today!

The papers, card and most of the elements on the page are from the February Mind the Scrap kit. Loving the colours this month. I have filmed and unboxing video, but my wifi is too weedy to upload it at the moment. Suffice to say, it's lovely, with a touch of Valentine's, but not too much.

The wooden hearts are coloured with a wash of Peacock Feather Distress Ink, really chuffed wiht how that worked out.

I added a couple of journaling pieces from the MTS kit, and a little phrase from a previous Lollipop Box Club kit. I quite liked the waste strip from punching out hearts, and the layout needed a little pop of red in the middle, so it got included!

I splattered with the leftover wash I'd made for colouring the hearts, just to mess it all up a little bit. I just flicked it with a wet paint brush.

Elements:

Papers: All from MTS Feburary kit
Pebbles- Forever my always- Mint dot
Crate Paper- Main squeeze- Match made

Card: White from MTS February kit

Journaling cards: Pink Paislee- Pick me up journaling spots

Embelishments: Wooden hearts from stash

Faith, Trust and a little Fairy Dust

Disney! This was such a fabulous day, the lads were off riding something scary, so my girl and I were wandering across a bridge in the Magic Kingdom when we came across a photographer. She took ages with us, taking lots of photos and adding a sprinkle of fairy dust to the finished photos.

The hearts were punched from a larger sheet and popped up onto 3D foam. I used Simple Stories Enchanted collection.

I cut down the 12x12 paper and bordered it with grey, which I used to mat the photo and elements, and I journalled in silver to match.

The mock newspaper fits perfectly, both in theme and the grey colour. The title was cut out of a journalling card.

Paper- Simple Stories- Enchanted collection- Pixie Dust & journal card elements

Hello Luna

Luna is our beautiful, naughty littlest cat. She has huge ears and lots of stripes and a very mischievous personality.

I used lots of ink on the back ground, so the card is warped, it's currently under a heavy book flattening out!

I used lots of punched flowers, and some little stamped cats that I've had lying about for eons.

It needed a border to frame it all, so I doodled round the edges, added spots round the flowers, and some swirls round the stamped title. The flower centres have black Stickles dotted in for some sparkle.

She's a pretty kitty!

All the materials were from my stash.
