Neon yellow!

Black and white and neon yellow is the colour scheme at Playdate cafe challenge. Time to use my new Stampin' Up boots then- I've had them months, and finally now, they've seen some ink! The neon yellow is from some bright, bright, bright gems.

George the first

I'm not much of a one for royal news, I wish the new baby all the very best, and I have to say there's a very good name being given there....... my George was born over 12 years ago, and he's a handsome chap. I came home from work with an uninspiring white t-shirt and banished him from the room whilst I made this.

As I put on Facebook, I made them both- the T-shirt and the boy. I stamped with a fab set of foam letters that were dirt cheap years ago. I used Memento ink, as it says it's washable when heat set- we'll see!! Well, it's just for a bit of fun over the summer. I even remembered to put some card in between the front and back of the t-shirt to protect the back from ink. Am I pleased with myself or what?

Lavinia- lovely fairyland

A lovely lady at work had asked me to make more fairy cards for her, so really liked the Lavinia ones I
made a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd go for a few more jewel colours.

I do like aqua tones, but then again.......

......purples and pinks are nice too.....

I'm entering this into the Lavinia Stamps challenge blog- to use a die cut or punch- I punched a mask for my big moon.

I'm also entering this purple one into the Allsorts fur and feathers challenge.

Inspired....by Mr Darcy

I've been inspired by Craft Stamper this past week. This little ATC is for a wings swap, and uses a wirework technique cased from CS.

The background is a recycled page from my favourite book, Pride and Prejudice, blanked out a bit with gesso. The stamp is from Stampotique, a very recent purchase, although I have longed after her for a very long time.

I'm entering this into the Stampotique designer challenge 107- recycle it!

Using up those scraps

I've made an effort lately to use up my bits and bobs- today's cards are made from Magenta stamped images that I've had in a box forever.

I thought this kinda looked like a magnolia flower, so that's the colourway I went for.

This purple one is from the same stamp set, but the different colouring really changes the look of the image.

I was particularly pleased with the ribbon, it's wired ribbon folded over to give a double layered edge.

Sometimes it all just works out right.

Take this card. It was an image I'd coloured and didn't know what to do with, until I needed to make a card for my cousin's littlest girl.

Then it didn't fit on the card- too big..... so I turned it round so that the image stands up above the card crease.

Then I couldn't work out where to put Tiegan's name, until I dropped one of the sticky letters and it landed on the paper dolly banner. So, as I said...sometimes it all just works out right.

Castles and flowers and washi and samples!

At my demo at Hobbycraft on Saturday I made a few samples whilst I was showing customers how to mask and stamp. I thought I'd show a few.

This one is made with a Lindsay Mason castle set and a fab sleeping dragon from Personal Impressions.

The background paper is from American Crafts and is such a gorgeous raspberry colour, plus it matched the ribbon I picked up in the store :)

This next card was a washi tape demo. Soooooo simple, but really effective.

The red pearl gems really set it off.

Washi washi flower flower

Another demo sample to show you today. This is a really simple way of using Washi tape.

The image is stamped twice with one ink application, giving a lovely shadow effect.

I'm liking the black gems too, they give it a bit of bling appeal!

I'm entering this into the Papertake weekly challenge- anything goes.

Dies challenge at A Little Bit Crafty

A Little Bit Crafty DT Blog

There's a new challenge at A Little Bit Crafty- my DT piece is ready to be shown! It's a bit of a different take to the rest of the DT, but, then when have I ever been the same as everyone else, lol!

I've used a fab clock from one of our sponsors for the month- It's about time from Smeared Ink, which I think fits perfectly with the gorgeous Lovely are the sound batboy from Stampotique, the little skulls on the clock face are kinda cute. The challenge this month is to use dies, so I've put some cogs onto my ink sprayed background.

Fancy having a go? The sponsors this month are Smeared ink, Saturated Canary and Cheery Lynn. Worth getting those dies out?

This piece is also my entry for the Stampotique Designers Challenge, which is new adventures. This is the first time I've done something "arty" with a digi stamp- I masked it and spray inked round it, then cut out the centre section from another print and layered it on. I've not been a digi fan really, but this time it really, really worked! That's my new adventure!

I'm also entering it into the Haunted Design House unlucky for some challenge- my 13 elements are..... 1.Black backing card, 2.Sprayed background 3,4,5,6.Cogs 7.Clock digi 8,9,10,11 ticks and tocks 12.Batboy stamp 13.Bookpage that batboy is stamped onto
