Carrot cake?

This one makes me smile everytime I see it!

How cute does carrot look with a candle on his head?

I'm entering this into the Cupboard trilogy challenge, which this month is to use spots and stripes- well the cake's spotty and the candle's stripey!

I'm also entering into the Try it on Tuesday challenge, which is to use seasonal or bright colours- I thought the autumnal colours were appropriate, and quite bright too!

Aqua elegance

A commissioned card to show today, my brief was a 21st card for a girly girl. I went for a spot of elegance, and lots of bling!

Not the best photo I'm afraid! I love this colour combination, not one I use often, but it's really effective. I made the bow using a You Tube tutorial- see it here.

This Stampin' up shoe is gorgeous- I stamped it in blue, popped on a bit of judicious colouring with a pale aqua glaze pen, and put lots and lots of tiny gems on. The edge of the cream card is stamped with another Stampin' Up favourite- Baroque motifs, I used a glue pad and swooshed it with glamour dust.

I'm entering it into the Crafting Musketeers pretty pastel challenge.

Monday, Monday, Monday.......

Oh Mondays are horrible things aren't they? I'm trying not to wish my life away, but Mondays are just pants!

I thought I'd cheer myself (and you) up with a bright little something I made at the weekend for a lady at work whose birthday is coming up. I've made this for everyone to sign, so it's not really so little- it's A4 sized!

She likes dogs- I found that a bit difficult to work in until I coloured them pink and green!

I'm entering this into the Totally Gorjuss challenge- to use string,
and the Stamping Sensations challenge- all creatures great and small.

Robot pirate anyone?

Another day, another card commission, another one for a Jake! What are the odds? I went for a pirate robot on this one.

Distressing the edges was fun, but it's kinda time consuming! The skulls are heat embossed with white powder.

Thank Crunchie.....

..... Friday's been a looooong time coming this week! I'm a teeny bit shattered, which unfortunately has a knock on effect on my creativity! Ah well, it's Saturday tomorrow, so a crafting day is planned, yippee:)

Last weekend I made a commissioned card for a lady at work- it was for he nephew, and by all accounts it went down well, always good to get a nice bit of feedback.

It's 8x8 inch square, and I went for a really sweet little boy from Lili of the valley.

I'm entering it into the Lili of the valley Ideas to inspire monthly challenge- Anything goes
and the Simon Says Wednesday challenge- to use a rubber stamp

A shabby challenge for A Little Bit Crafty

Wow, these months are knocking along quickly........

Time for a new challenge at A Little Bit Crafty.

A Little Bit Crafty DT Blog

This month we'd like you to show us your shabby creations. I'm not sure I've cracked the shabby style- although this certainly isn't neat and tidy, lol.

It's another little notebook for my craft fair- I used the fab little ghost stamp from one of our sponsors this month- the fabulous Octopode Factory. I've got him in rubber, but he's available, along with oodles of Lily's other wonderful creations in the Octopode etsy shop

So, if you do shabby much better than me (not difficult.....), get on over to the challenge blog and show us your stuff!

I'm entering this into the Corrosive challenge- cute and creepy

Goth butterfly

Life's tough when you're the world's only goth butterfly......

The stamps on this little notebook are Mort had a pin curl and Lovely wings from Stampotique, with the beautiful big Stampin' up Sunflower in the background. The Love washi tape was a bargain buy, dontcha love a bargain? In real life his wings curl up and the yellow is verrrrry sparkly.

Well, what do you know? The challenge at my favourite challenge blog- Stampotique Designers challenge- is to use Washi tape. I've got more tape than I thought, but I particularly like the ones with words on, so easy to add a little something extra to a project....... and let's face it, this little butterfly needed a bit of love.

Ooh, and remember, if you want to buy one of these, get in touch- £2.50 plus posting :D

Vampires..... it's a girl thing......

Today I've covered a couple of little notebooks for an upcoming craft fair. I'm totally in love with this little vampire boy from the Octopode Factory.

In honour of the new series of True Blood coming onto UK TV next week, yippeeeeeeee!

I'm entering this into the Octopode Factory Friday challenge- wings.

Ooh, and if anyone wants to buy one of these, I'm making more...... let me know- £2.50 each (plus postage).

Steampunk vintage ATCs

I'm not really feeling the Steampunk thing. I like it to look at, but it's not particularly my thing to produce...... so I tried hard with these ATCs for a swap, but I'm not entirely happy with them.

I do like the bit of gilding I got on there though....might have another idea for that.....

I'm entering these into the Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge- retro/vintage

What I did on my holidays, by Lisa, aged......21 + some

On my holidays this year I decided to pack light craft-wise (so just half the car then.....well, the kids don't need clothes, right?), no I really did. I prepped a concertina journal, packed a batch of Stampotique stamps and a mini alphabet, plus pens and........ I made a journal!

I haven't showcased it yet, but today is a special occasion- my beloved Stampotique stamps are having a DT call. Be still my beating heart. Kinda like my dream job......only much, much better! What better way to indulge my obsession with these fabulous stamps? Before I resort to undignified begging, here's my holiday book- lots of photos and then I'll do the begging at the end of the post.....

Game of the week on hols was Plants vs Zombies 2 on the ipads....... I was inspired.....

I added lots of pockets to put interesting bits and pieces in from places we visited and things we did

Just like that..... he always reminds me of Tommy Cooper....

I am still in love with my Stampotique big bee, and it goes perfectly with my new Hexagons stamp acquisition....
`

I couldn't resist a spot of doodling.....

This next page came out so beautifully I didn't want to cover it up with much, so I went for a mini file folder.

Pull here, and when you do......

Did you spot the odd one out? Love those budgies :)

The real problem with Stampotique stamps is that I have so many favourites- these little monsters come out to play A LOT!

Love this one, it's bright and colourful, which is very me, with watercoloured images, a little quote and lots of cutting out- not that I like cutting out, but it works!

And finally- not Stampotique stamps, but it makes me smile, so.......

I know there's a lot here, but I wanted to show that I do bright, colourful and happy. I like to make things that make me smile, and I love words. Stampotique stamps fit my style perfectly, they're versatile, quirky and the stamps that I just keep coming back to. I try to view things a bit differently and use my stamps in different ways too.

As for joining the Stampotique DT- talk about dream team..... it would make my day, month, year! The Stampotique DT is THE team to be on, and to represent these amazing stamps would be my absolute ideal, dream come true, best thing ever.... am I gushing too much? Well, I'm just happy to be in the mix and to be considered :)

Zentangled wings

Found a post written aaaages ago- excuse the references to holidays.....that's all been and gone now!

Good morning! I was about to type that it's a sunny day here for once, but I think I jinxed it, and the sun went in.....oops, don't tell anyone. Fingers crossed that it comes back out, I've got sheets to dry!

I'm deciding what to take on my jollidays, craft wise. Not a huge amount of space in the boot with the rest of the luggage (those pesky kids, always wanting to be clothed......), so perhaps just some doodling pens and a journal...... we'll see what I can sneak in, eh? Talking of doodling.......

A doodled ATC for a wings themed swap. The little figures are from Stampotique, and are my go to stamp for doodling round. They're mega, MEGA versatile, I've used them as a background, border, with petals behind their heads as flowers.....allsorts! With that in mind, I'm entering this into the Simon Says challenge- Stamping All-stars

Coffee?

When I got back from my most excellent holidays on Friday, there was a parcel awaiting me from the lovely Carole, with my Stampin' Up order all beautifully packed inside. I didn't manage a little play until Sunday afternoon, and I went completely clean and simple.....

Coloured with watercolour pencils, I'm really pleased with the steam.

They fit perfectly into the Less is More challenge, which is to use a rubber stamp with the optional extra of watercolouring. Yippee, this fits!

A little bit crafty clean and simple challenge? Oh go on then.......

The challenge at A Little Bit Crafty this month is to show us something CAS- Clean and Simple.

I love clean and simple cards, not that I make them that often, but I do like the uncluttered look now and then, although looking at the state of my house since we got back off our holidays, cluttered is very much the word at the moment.......

This made me laugh far too much. There's another in the series of "cake" cards..... I'll show you that another day.

Coloured using my ubiquitous watercolour pencils. The cake is from a Kanban set, and the cups are Stampotique. Can you spot the gloss on some of the circles?

Hope you like it, and hope you can join us at ALBC. There are some smashing prizes up for grabs, as ever.

Tardis....... I'm so proud!

OK, so this is THE BEST commission for a card EVER! My brief was a card for a 13 year old girl, preferably with a Tardis, a girl with the right colour hair, and as geeky as you like. Was I interested? Ermmmmm......yes!

So I made a Tardis, using the wonderful instructions on Valita's blog slightly modified.

Isn't it just wonderful? I've got to make another one for myself. The edges are inked in Pumice stone and Black soot Distress Inks. There was a lot of precision measuring and cutting out, not usually my forte, but it all went marvellously!

Now the girl gave me a few difficulties, so I went through my boxes of girl stamps (yes, boxes..... I know, I know!) and this one fit the bill. Girly, but a little bit geeky as well- stripey legs and enough hair to get a bit of reddy-pink in there. Plus, she was flying off in the sky on an adventure- I thought the Doctor would approve!

I added more balloons, for colour and added helium, and wonder of wonders, the little numbers juuuussssst fit on them! It needed sparkle (doesn't everything), so I added some shimmer dots in a very pale blue.

I'm hoping she'll like it, because I do!

And.... because I'm just a Dr Who fangirl at heart.....
