Regular readers will already know about my bookmark obsession, so I'm not mentioning it in this post...... However, I have made a couple of new bookmarks, woohoo!! One is a gift, the other I'm not sure whether to keep or not as yet.
The challenge over at Tuesday Taggers is Vintage bookmark, so with that in mind, I came up with this.....
The background is Distress Inked and Cosmic Shimmered and then stamped with lots and lots of vintage images. I wasn't keen on it after the first round of stamping, so I just kept going until I was! There was also a bit of inking through sequin waste and dusting with Perfect Pearls in Copper.
The main image is from a Paperartsy plate, and the other images are Paperartsy and another clear vintage set of Kay's (I was at Kay's when I did the stamping!). The very slightly rude lady has a layer of brown netting totally failing to cover her modesty, lol. I finished off with some ribbon, lace and a little vintage-y charm.
Ingredients
Stamps- Paperartsy Vintage Nudes 1, Clocks 5, Mini 61; Vintage set of unknown origin
Inks- Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Barn Door, Walnut Stain; Impress inks in Fawn and Autumn Leaf
Stash- Cream ribbon, cream lace, brown netting, charm, eyelet
Cosmic Shimmer mister in Lava red
I'm entering this into-
Tuesday Taggers Vintage bookmark challenge
Challenge Up Your Life vintage challenge
My second bookmark is a much prettier affair. Believe it or not, the background was made from swooshing my blank white card on the remnants of the inks and cosmic shimmer from the vintage bookmark above! It all came out very pale pink.
I stamped the dragon fly in a soft pink ink, and the leaf stem and dragonfly definition in bundled sage Distress ink. I also inked the edges in the Distress Ink. The dragonfly is a gorgeous stamp of Kay's (I'll ask her where it's from), and I stamped it again onto green vellum and cut it out, then stamped the words (I think they're Paperartsy) onto pink vellum and ripped them out.
An eyelet and some ribbon and it's done!
Ingredients
Inks- Stazon Black, Distress Ink Bundled Sage and Fired Brick, Memories Soft Pink
Cosmic Shimmer Mist- Lava red
Stamps- Stampin Up Watercolour Vine, Paperartsy Petals 3, Lost Coast definition, Dragonfly source not known
Stash- Cream ribbon, vellum in pale green and pink

Think texture, think Ferro.......
The theme at Tuesday Taggers this week is to add texture. I had a play with some Ferro paste a while back, and then ran out of steam on this tag. Today I thought I'd finish it....
I stamped into the Ferro with my Old French Writing stamp from Hero Arts and a Paperartsy squiggly ink flower and swirl. Then, inspired by seeing Leandra demo at the NEC, I painted it with a darkish red acrylic paint, making sure I got into all the nooks and crannies. Once that was dry, I brushed more lightly over the top with blue and green so that the red still showed through.
I finished it off with some metallic flowers I picked up in my local craft shop for pennies, and a little frame and bulldog clip. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I suspect I was over thinking this one. It needed something more than just the stamping and paint, but I was trying to put too much on, rather than keeping it to a few more simple embellishments. After all, I need to let that texture speak for itself!!!!
I'm entering this into the Tuesday Taggers touchy feely texture theme challenge, and it is easy to keep stroking this one!!! They're sponsored by Tandastamps this week (thanks for the heads up Zoe) so it's well worth a look!!

A Distressed Card- hope it doesn't cry......
In keeping with my recent resolution to make some boys cards for my card box, I give you......
A boy's card!!! Ok, Ok, stop the applause please, you're embarrassing me....... The lovely little boy is a Lili of the Valley stamp, coloured with Promarkers as usual! The horizontal strip of backing paper is from the V&A Quilts paper collection, a pad of paper I just had to have, but which I've found quite hard to use. The vertical strip is made by crumpling paper, swiping Tea Dye Distress Ink over it then spritzing with lots of water. Everything (including the card itself) is inked with Tea Dye, or Old Paper or Scattered Straw Distress inks, or all 3, and the dirty looking bits are inked with my new favourite colour- Pumice Stone.
I'm entering this into the following....
Tuesday Taggers- It's a Man's World (well,a boy's in this case, lol)
Crafts and Me- Distressed
Passion for Promarkers- Anything goes
Papertake- Sketch
Spoonful of sugar- Celebration (birthday card)

Altered game waste thingy doobrey wotsit
I have no idea what to call this...... so perhaps I'll show you the before picture first.
It's the bit leftover from a game my daughter had- the holes held chipboard cards and are about an inch square. This is how it looks now......
I painted the frame with PVA glue then dabbed with alcohol inks in pesto, terracotta and raisin. Then I stamped over the inks with a stamp (Aspire to be top left square) using archival ink. I stamped something for each aperture onto separate card square and coloured them with Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw and Mustard Seed, as well as a tiny bit of a lavender ink that was already on the card. The fairies and castle are my favourite little Lavinia stamps. A couple of the squares are covered in Glossy Accent, and most of them have some Stickles on.
I wasn't too keen on the green and orange chequerboard squares so I heated some UTEE in my Melt pot and poured it in along with some beads. I got some pockmarks on the squares by mistake, but you know what they say- there are no mistakes, so I rubbed some metallic rub on to them to highlight the bubbles.
Finally I sandwiched some orange ribbon between the front and back to make it into a hanging.
This is my challenge entry for this week's Tuesday Taggers- It's a bug's life- there's a little dragonfly on there! This week their challenge is sponsored by The Craft Barn, so I hope I win!!!!
It's also my entry for the Papertake weekly challenge which is anything goes and for the Fairytale challenge at All the cute and girly blog.

Tuesday Taggers- messy hands time!!!
3 posts in a day, wow! This is my post for the Tuesday Taggers blog challenge, which this week is Messy Hands. Over the weekend I made the perfect thing (actually 2 perfect things), with lots of paint and ink and some very VERY messy hands (and messy desk and floor and everything I touched, oops!) These both started off as little plain brown boxes.

This one has gone to live with my lovely Docrafts friend Shendy. It's painted with gesso and acrylic paints, then stamped with some Lavinia fairies and leaves in Black Versafine. Highlights with white gel pen.

This box has photographed a little more pink than it actually is, plus the bottom photo was taken before the glue had dried, hence the white button centre. Again, this is gessoed and painted with acrylics, then stamped on top with a lovely Personal Impressions swirly birds stamp set. The edges are stamped with a foam stamp word- beautiful- in red Stazon. A dab or two of black diamond Stickles and it's done.
Each of these boxes is about 2- 2.5 inches wide, so they're really little. I'm saving the pink one for a friend's birthday in April (one who doesn't look on here!!), just need to find something nice to put in it!!

Time and Key ATCs
The challenge theme over at Tuesday Taggers this week was time. As usual I decided to make an ATC, which turned into 3!!

All 3 have a cosmic shimmer background, and the stamps I've used are from a Paperartsy set I hadn't used before. About time I got them inky.

Janet has also noticed that this final one also fits in to the theme over at SCD, where the challenge is ATCs with keys.
